Curanipe is located in the southern part of the Seventh Region, the Region del Maule, Chile.  It is located 414 kilometers from Santiago.  Curanipe can be accessed by modern highways both from the south and from the north of Chile.

From the north

Curanipe is 283 km south of Santiago.  From Highway 5 exit at the Los Conquistadores highway, proceed to the right (west).  This is the way to the city of Constitucion.  Once you pass the toll booth on Los Conquistadores highway, turn left towards Cauquenes (Cauquenes is 83 kilometers from the Panamerican highway).  Once you get to Cauquenes, you take the highway towards to the coast towards Pelluhue (Pelluhue is 44 kilometers from Cauquenes).  Once you reach Pelluhue, proceed south through Pelluhue and continue for 6 kilometers on the coastal highway to reach Curanipe.  The Refugio del Mar is 10 meters north of the only stoplight in Curanipe.

By bus
From the Santiago bus station, which is the Universidad Santiago stop on the metro, you need to look for the Pullman del Sur bus company.

The bus will drop you off at the door to the Hostal (tell the driver's assistant you would like to get off at the Hostal!)

From the south
From the City of Parral, head towards Cauquenes (3 kilometer from Parral to Cauquenes).  Once you get to Cauquenes, you take the highway towards to the coast, towards Pelluhue (Pelluhue is 44 kilometers from Cauquenes).  Once you reach Pelluhue, proceed south through Pelluhue and continue for south 6 kilometers on the coastal highway to reach Curanipe.  The Refugio del Mar is 10 meters north of the only stoplight in Curanipe.

By bus
You should take the bus company Interbus from the bus station in the City of Parral.  There are departures every 45 minutes.
The bus will drop you off at the door to the Hostal (tell the driver's assistant you would like to get off at the Hostal!)
